19 and 20 September 2009 When the club was approached by Sue Burke of Bellingen Riding Club in late July, to co-run their Championship day in mid September, it was a little daunting to this rookie dressage co-ordinator. But, with promised support from the committee we decided to give it a bash.
Entries were very good right from the onset, and it promised to be a fairly big event for the short preparation time. We were very lucky with our sponsors, who all proved extremely generous and supportive, by either donating goods and sponsorship money, or discounting their goods and services for us.. Two Tails Wines The weather for the entire weekend was fabulous, not too hot, not too cold and the grounds were in tip tip shape. The show went off relatively smoothly, with only a few behind the scenes hiccups which were smoothed over without too many dramas. (thanks Michelle!) Many thanks to the numerous volunteers who helped over the course of the weekend with setting up arenas, pencilling, gear stewarding, gophers, running the canteen. I won’t name you all, but you know who you are, and it is most appreciated, and without your help, the weekend would not have been the success that it was.
Special note must go to our scoring and prize co-ordinating team of Brenda, Vicki, Tasmyn and Sonia, who did a magnificent job, and got all the scores up and finalised in record time. Huge high-fives guys, we have received much positive feedback! Also a big thanks to Narelle, who assists and organises so much for all the club’s events, without her, nothing would ever go smoothly!.
