Vale to Hedley

Hedley came into my life in 2001.

I had started lessons with Michelle Muller and she gave me the opportunity to work with Hedley. Even though I didn’t know much about horses and riding I instantly appreciated his beautiful trot and canter and his loving nature.

Our relationship lasted about four and half years. During that time there were many treasured experiences. He introduced me to jumping, giving me confidence and ignoring my inexperience. – canter lead changes, no problems! He was the first horse I took to the beach and I did my first ODE on him. He did get a little enthused at times but he took me through jumping training with Sam Lyle, Sharmayne Spence and many others.

I was always impressed with how he managed with sight in only one eye.
I think we came to an unstated agreement – he looked after me jumping if I didn’t hassle him too much about working collected. He was an honest and kind horse.
