T-Shirt Dressage Oct 08

5 October 2008

Star-of-ClintvaraThe T-shirt Dressage Competition was very well attended and the quality of rides very high. It was great to see some new faces, both human and horse. The NCEC would like to thank the judges who again gave up their time to give us the benefit of their knowledge and experience. They were Kriss Wood, Erica Henderson and Hellen Campbell.

There were some stand outs and Lindy Thistleton’s Irish Draft stallion Star of Clintvara was one, (pictured) due mainly to his imposing size and seeming laid back nature. He was well ridden by Megan Hyde for a first, second and fourth placing.
Linda Cleary had a big day with 3 horses and won all her tests except one in which she placed second and top scored on the day with 74.4% in a Novice test. Sally Middleton, a junior rider from Dorrigo only had one horse, Oberana Double Up, but won all her tests at Preliminary and Novice level.

It was terrific to see Taylor and Ashleigh Dand trying their hand at Elementary level and giving their coach Linda a run for her money. Bev Davis gave her buckskin quarter horse stallion, Otoe, a change of scenery from the western ring and took home a blue ribbon in the Prep 2. The entries from Horsin’ Around were all superbly presented and helpful on the day.

A big thank you to Michelle Muller, our President, who organised this event as well as the Dressage Championships earlier in the year and the Showjumping Championships only a couple of weeks after the Tshirt dressage day.
Special mention should also be made of Carmel Duffy and Liz Watt who both pencilled all day at he Tshirt dressage day and the show jumping. Thank you from all of us!
